How to Use the Quote Block in WordPress?

The quote block comes with the WordPress core blocks and is easy to use. Unlike the classic editor, the great part of using it is that you don’t have to add custom coding to add a quote.

Step 1: Insert the Quote Block

Navigate to Posts (1) > All Posts (2) and edit the post or page (3) where you want to insert the Quote block.

Click the “+” icon (Add Block Icon) in the editor (1) and type “Quote” in the search box (2). Click “Quote” to insert it into the editor(3).

How to use the quote block in WordPress

When the quotation block is inserted, you can insert any block, quotation, or text inside the block. You will also see the following options.

  • Transform: The transform option lets you transform the block to any block.
  • Text Align: This allows you to set your text alignment.
  • Citation: Allows you to add citations.

Step 2: Insert Your Content

Add quotes or texts inside the field (1), Click Citation (2), and add citations (3). If necessary, you can add other blocks inside the quotation block by clicking the “+” (Add Block) icon.

Step 3: Customization

The Quote block settings hold several other customizations. To access the block settings, navigate to Settings (1) > Block (2) > Styles (3).

You will find multiple styling options in the Styles, Color, Typography, Background Image, Dimensions, Block Spacing, and Border in the Styles option.

  • Styles: Let’s select between the Default and Plain Styles
  • Color: The Color option lets you add colors for your text, link, and background of the Quote block.
  • Background Image: You can add a background image for your quote block using the feature.
  • Typography: The typography lets you select fonts & font size, appearance, line height, letter spacing, letter casing, and letter decoration.
  • Dimensions: Dimensions allow you to adjust padding and margin for your text block.
  • Border: The Border option lets you add border and border radius for your text block.
