Method 1: Adding a Column to the Default Table Block
To add a new column to an existing table, click on the column before or after which you want to add the new column. See the table below. We want to add a new column after the third column.
We placed our cursor on the third column. Hit the Edit Table icon (1) on the toolbar. Next, select the Insert column before (2) or Insert column after (3) option.
The new column will be added to the table according to your choice.
You can see a new column has been added to the table. Now, add content to its rows.
Method 2: Adding a Column to the Tableberg Block
The Tableberg plugin also allows you to add new columns to your existing table. The process is completely similar to the above method.
Click on any column. Press the Edit table (1) icon on the toolbar. Next, select the Insert column before (2) or Insert column after (3) option from the list.
You can see a new column has been created in between two other columns.
Conclusion
Adding a new column may affect the space and layout of the other existing columns. You may have to optimize their heights and widths. So, have a plan ahead before adding a new column so it doesn’t disturb your content presentation.
