The FAQ section is a dedicated part, block, or section in a blog post covering answers to common questions that visitors may have. As a result, users don’t have to open new tabs to find answers to these queries.
Besides, the FAQ section serves as a knowledge base. It can add value to blog posts by adding additional info to educate the users. In this article, we’ll show you multiple ways of how to add an FAQ section in WordPress.
- Method 1: Using the Default Details Block

Method 01: Using the Details Block (Without a Plugin)
Details block is a default block in the Gutenberg editor. You can create a basic-level FAQ section with the block by the following steps.
Step 01: Add the Details Block to the Editor
Log into your WordPress dashboard. Open the post or page where you want to create the FAQ section.
Click the plus (+) button on the editor. Type Details in the search box. The block will show up instantly. Add it to the editor.
Step 02: Add Questions and Answers to the Details Block
The Details block comes with two parts. The first part lets you add a question, and the second one for answering the question. Now, add a question and answer it yourself.
You can see that we have added a question and its answer to the block within its respective fields.
Now, repeat the same method to consecutively add as many FAQs as you want to the post/page using the Details block.
Step 03: Stylize the Details Block
Come to the Styles tab on the right sidebar, keeping the block selected. You’ll get options to change the block text color, background color, typography, font size, block spacing, and other dimensions.
Method 02: Using the Content Toggle Block (With a Plugin)
Ultimate Blocks is a cool WordPress plugin with 25+ custom Gutenberg blocks. It has the Content Toggle block, by which you can create robust FAQ sections better than the Details block.
Install and activate the plugin from the section Plugins > Add New Plugins. After the plugin is installed, follow the steps shown below.
Step 01: Add the Conent Toggle Block
Add the Content Toggle block to your post/page editor following the same process described in the above method.
Step 02: Add Questions and Answers to the Content Toggle Block
Once the block is added, it will come as closed. Click the arrow sign to expand it. Type your question in the Panel Title field. Answer to the question in the Panel content field.
Step 03: Create More Panels with the Content Toggle Block
You need to create new sections to add more FAQs. Hovering your cursor on the block will show up the plus (+) button at the bottom of the block as shown in the image below.
By clicking the plus (+) button, create more sections as many as you want. Then, add your desired content to the new sections.
Step 04: Customize Settings of the Content Toggle Block
You can see that we’ve added several FAQs to the editor using the block. Come to the Settings tab to customize settings of the block. You can do the following things using options under the settings tab:
Panel Title: Set heading tag (h1, h2,…h6) for the FAQ questions.
Toggle State: Lets you choose whether the panels should be collapsed or open when presented.
FAQ Schema: Enable the FAQ schema to get better visibility in search engine result pages.
Responsive Control: You can display the block on every device (mobile, desktop, and tablet) if you want or hide it on a specific device.
Pro: Once you upgrade to the premium version, you can add a search box and stylization so people can quickly search out specific questions. This feature is much useful when you cover lots of FAQs in the same section.
Step 05: Stylize the Content Toggle Block
Next, come to the Styles tab. You can apply color scheme for the block container, title, title link, and toggle icons.
You can also enable the block’s border, toggle icon location, toggle icon, padding, and margin for the block. Hope you can do these yourself.
Conclusion
Not only does the FAQ section uphold user-experience but also establishes trust and credibility. When users see that you have taken time to answer many potential queries, it creates a positive impression in their mind.
However, the placement of the FAQ section plays a crucial role. It is typically placed at the end of the main discussion on blog posts of pages. But you can also place it upwards if you feel it’s important.
